If you have ever visited South Korea you will know that it is a bustling place; especially in the cities. With the Koreans working so hard, they do not have much spare time. So going shopping for groceries could take up a lot of their spare time and if they had to find their way through traffic, then it could take even longer. However, there is now a way for them to get their weekly grocery shop done while they wait for their train. This means that every week, they can save a few precious hours. And it means that the time they spend standing around waiting for their train can be spent doing something productive.

 

This idea is something that Tesco came up with and it is truly wonderful. Instead of opening up a store in the train station, they have just put up realistic posters of the shelves in a store. Now this might seem a bit underwhelming, but I haven’t got to the best bit yet. The posters have not been put there for the commuters to just look at, they can actually use them if they want to order goods. All the commuter has to do is point their camera at whatever they want to order. The payment will be made automatically and all the shopping needs can be done in a few minutes waiting for a train. And you will feel like you are walking through a real supermarket because of how realistic the posters are.

 

This is a very simple yet truly brilliant idea. Hopefully this isn’t just something that will be only available to Koreans. We all deserve this type of service so maybe these posters will soon appear in subways around the world. It is an idea that could revolutionise the way we shop. When it comes to ideas that are effective, it is usually the simple ones that work the best. It will also take some of the boredom out of waiting for a train.
