Music concert is enjoyed by everyone. The excitement is intense and people have a lot of fun. A concert playing good and appealing music is enjoyable both to the audience and the performers. Mostly, professional musicians participate is such concerts, but in current times there is a evolving trend of community concerts which is arranged by a town or a city and young, talented amateur musicians get to perform and showcase their skills.

The name of our band is “Passion” and we were lucky to have participated in a community concert. Our group consists of five members. Each member of the group is a talented musician and we are very passionate about our music and perhaps that is the reason that we have named our band “Passion”. Last year as part of community work we as a class visited an orphanage in the vicinity to assist the children with their studies and other activity. We could notice that the resources existing in the orphanage were constrained, particularly the library. It required books, stationary and some furniture in order to equip the library of the orphanage. Therefore our class decided to engage in activity activities during the summer break and raise money for the orphanage. And children from the class got into groups and started working on different projects.

We as a band decided to arrange a music concert, which will not only enable us exhibit our talent to everyone but will also allow us to raise lot of money to give in the orphanage. However, we were absolutely unaware about how to begin and whom to contact in order to organize this big event which we had imagined in our mind. After a lot of thought we decided to contact the Mayor of the city who could be a great help to us organize this big event. One of the band member’s uncle was an acquaintance with the city Mayor. He helped us organize a meeting with him. At the meeting the mayor was veryintrigued by our conviction and instantly agreed to extend all possible help from his side. He also recommended that the venue of the concert should be the city Community centre. We were given great ideas on how to get in touch with the sponsors, to get publicity for the event as well as ways regarding the sale and purchase of tickets. All this activity regarding the event was supervised by the professional and within a month our band was going live on stage to perform for a crowd of over two thousand.

Amidst all the other organization our group put in a lot of hard work in the practice of the song which we were supposed to perform. All of us were very excited and everything was going as planned and expected. But a day before the concert there was a heavy downpour. Our band was still practicing at the community centre when we saw a gush of water seeping through the roof. There were visible cracks on the roof and we could easily guess that if not immediately repaired the entire hall would be flooded with water. One of the member from the organizing team immediately called roofers in Mobile. To our surprise and relief they instantly arrived and began with the repair of the roof.

While the roofers were working on the roof, there was another sense of panic which over took all of us. The visitor toilet attached to the community centre was in the basement started flooding. There were some plumbing problem in the bathroom and one of the faucets was broken. To help us fix the bathroom pipes we immediately contacted plumbers in Mobile.

As the plumbers and roofers were doing their respective repair work, we could notice that there could be a possible electrical problem as well. The community centre was an old building and the electrical wiring was not so strong. Due to the dampness in the building as a result of excessive rain there was a chance of electrical short –circuit. So, to deal with this problem before hand we called Mobile electricians.

Luckily all the problems related to the damaged roof, plumbing and electrical issue was taken care of in time. All of us were tensed but just hours before the commencement of the program all problems were solved. We were a little unsure about the turnout of the people at the show because of excessive rain. However, the response was overwhelming and the community centre was packed with people. The excitement of the crowd was very great which exhilarated our own performance. The entire concert was a grand success and everything went on as we had visualized the whole event.
